The Representation of Consumers Devoted

Independence
Test-Achats devoted solely to defending the interests of consumers and shall therefore totally independent from industry, finance, politics and trade unions. This includes that the organization is politically neutral, not accept free samples for comparative testing and systematically refuses to rely on grants, sponsorship and advertising revenues.
Test-Achats will primarily depend on the contributions of subscribers (via the subscriptions to the magazines). These contributions are almost the only source of funding. A small proportion of the revenue comes from European, national or regional projects (co-financing for a study, research or survey commissioned by a government agency).
Representativeness
In his 50-year existence Test-Aankoop/Test-Achats grown into an organization with nearly 350,000 subscribers. One in ten Belgian households is connected.
That huge number makes Test-Aankoop/Test-Achats Belgium’s leading consumer organization. Moreover, Test-Achats the only independent consumer organization in the strict sense, ie that only the representation of consumers devoted. The political and economic decision makers keep ever more aware. Test-Achats is not only represented in government institutions such as the Consumer Council, but also outside consulted about increasingly consumer-specific files.
Test-Achats is also located at the base of the group Euroconsumers, the umbrella body for consumer groups and publishers in five countries (Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain). With over one million members is the largest independent consumer Euroconsumers in Europe and second worldwide. That gives Test-Aankoop/Test-Achats undoubtedly sufficient representativeness.
